Thanks for the info Greg... Question, was the Pro Stocks an offshoot of the "old street stocks" or was it an independently created division?

Mr. Lightnin is the ultimate custodian of Mountain Speedway historical knowledge.

But to answer your question J.A., Pro Stocks were an offshoot of Street Stock. 1994 was the last year for Street Stock and 1995 they became Pro Stock.

It was the old street stock division. 1988 to 1994 then Pro Stock from 1995 until we got kicked out of the speedway. But this "old street stock division" always had 10 inch tires, jackers, 180 headers, no pass floors etc. Was always a home built limited late model from the very beginning. Aftermarket aluminum & fiberglass bodies came in 1993. The only thing that changed for the 95 season was the name. This was always an Evergreen exclusive class.

Ok, so I have that right on the Champs list. Then a new Street Stock division was created later... Gotcha! Thanks for the help guys, it's appreciated!

The new street stock division was the old thriller division with new rules and a new name. That's another story.

I still have my program books from the 80's and 90's, would you like me to go through them and get you some numbers and all of the names?

Oh yeah, Bling, that would be great. Until we do it here, this info is not on the internet!

Bling

I did that back in, oh, 2003 if I remember correctly. I did a years worth of programs a week and painstakingly put it all into spreadsheets. Since I haven't been with the track for the past 2 seasons, the detail isn't up to date. At least those results are on the internet. This was for what's considered the modern era... '88 through the present.

Greg,

I enjoy going through the old programs. Takes me back to the good ol days and a completely different generation of racing. I will sit there for hours turning pages, looking at pictures, reading the write ups. It is interesting to see how things have changed. I just want to clarify, so we don't get some smarta$$ tearing up the post, I am referring to 10+ years ago, quite frankly I could careless who leaves. One thing you will realize in racing, management changes. It doesn't matter who is running the show, someone is always going to think they are a/an ___________ (left that blank for those of you with imagination). Heck in life in general, people will like you for no reason and people will hate you for no reason....

When I get a chance I will dig out the pics I have of Roger Heffelfinger's Dorney Park car and scan it. Amongst some of the other old photo's I have. Talk about going into history...
