Kind of amazing how no one at Mountain wants to answer questions or acknowledge the users of this forum anymore but at least we will still get results. Guess this forum is no problem as long as it benefits them and costs nothing.

Arre the laptimes going to be posted on mylaps.com?

The results are a courtesy for the folks who would like them before waiting for a press release.

As far as the lap times, I'm not certain if they were uploaded to mylaps or not. Sometimes the dial up connection isn't the most cooperative thing ;)

How was the show today at Mt. Speedway? I was not there.

I thought it went well for the basically new crew running the show there. A few problems though, hopefully they are fixed before the next event.

I was standing next to the computer in the tower. There was ONE 4 cyl car who's transponder didn't work properly, due to the fact that the driver did not have a hole in the floor for the transponder to work properly. Not the fault of anyone at Mountain, I'd say. So that's why they decided not to hold up the event until this one missinformed individual corrrected the problem they they created for themself. I believe the rules were quite clear as to where and how this is supposed to be done, and this person missed it. Oh well, better luck next time. :disgusted
Other than that, there were NO OTHER transponder issues that I know of.

In all fairness W.J., neither the Frostbite rules at http://www.mountainspeedway.com/press/event/fb07.htm
nor the Mountain Madness Enduro Rules at http://www.mountainspeedway.com/rules/Enduro%20Rules%202007.htm
mention anything about having a hole in the floor for the transponder.

So really I don't see how the new guys were supposed to know about this.
[Disclaimer: I don't know them and have no dog in this fight either way. Just pointing out what I (don't) observe.]

As I said, it was only an issue with one car. My transponder sheet shows all cars registered transponder 'hits' in the race, so I guess something was worked out.

Have to disagree with you.

In the url you posted above.

Clearly states about transponders and if an issue to ask a tech guy.

All Mountain Speedway events are transponder scored, transponder brackets are available from the track raceday or through the speedway office. Transponders MUST be secured in a bracket, no zip ties, or duct taping of transponders is allowed, unless used in ADDITION to the bracket. Please check with tech inspector, or speedway office "if unsure of bracket and transponder mounting location" and procedures.

Very clearly written.

So where does it say that there needs to be a hole in the floor? Not that clear to me. kinda vague actually.

I dont see how that would even matter.....when we first started running there we used to put the transponders in our pockets :help: :p .......They can blame it on the "HOLE" all they want....Mountains gotten plenty of my rental $$$ for a transponder that dont work. Been there....done that.

It was also discussed in the drivers meeting how to mount them. If they had any questions they should have asked someone.

The point is that Walter and rgee say that the rules clearly state where and how to mount the transponder and I say the rules on the website were vague.

Was someone DQ'ed because he had different offset wheels on his car? If so, I don't see that rule written anywhere.

He wasn't just DQed for offset wheels. Whoever mentioned that the car who was dqed for offset wheels also had a preloaded sway bar.

mcsnoww
01-09-2007, 04:46 PM
Well, then that's 2 things that he was DQ'ed for that are not in the rules. Nothing in the rules about a sway bar or offset rims. :(

pitbull113
01-09-2007, 08:07 PM
I also have no dog in this hunt but stock means stock. cars did not come out of the factory with different length sway bar links or wheels with different offsets. No grey area in "stock" just depends how hard the tech guys look.

mcsnoww
01-09-2007, 08:26 PM
You also can't have tech men making up the rules as they go either. If that is the case, they could DQ the entire field. That is what helped destroy their pro stock division. One single tech man who decided to redefine how a pro stock "should, in his opinion" be built, even though the rules stated otherwise. They dropped like flies after that.

"bonestock enduro" is understood by most. If you choose to creatively explore the rules, that's your risk. I think that most people that plan on racing there understand the concept of the series.

While some good points are being made, we are getting wayoff subject, which started out as Frostbite results. Could we please leave the rule bickering where it is and get back to the main subject of this thread. Thank you (for not making me close it-hint).
