We have a new driver, Colin Dempster, age 14, who will be trying out the Late Models. He did well on his test in November at Mountain, low 15.1's, so he should be ok!!!??

Sounds like he should be. Best of luck to your team and his rookie season.

As long as the kid feels comfortable behind the wheel while in practace, he should be fine. Has he run with other drivers???

Yes he has, he holds the track record in midgets in Ohio, with a lot of wins!! But this car is heavier than he is used to, but hey, he did well and he did practice with me on the track in Sue's car.

What type of midgets can you race at the age of 14?

Many drivers begin their careers racing midgets at the age of 8-9...heck some 10 year olds are giving some older drivers a run for their money.

Yes, I know. I am just curious as to what type of midget. I for example, started out racing Quarter Midgets.

Yes he raced 1/4 midgets since the age of 5 and went on to bigger ones in Ohio. All I know is it was indoor racing in Ohio. I have to go to their shop tomorrow and I will look on the trophies he has and let you know.
