A few weeks ago it was said JR's contract up this year and he may opt to Childress and a new #3 team. I haven't followed up on it so not sure if rumor or truth right now.

Yep, I've read the story. It's called NEGOTIATIONS! (And added publicity, LOL!)

Sorry, didn't mean to delete last post only edit to say I've seen the same thing about Jr leaving DEI. There is some uncertainty in both camps and words have been exchanged publicly.

As of 1am EST the "I don't cares" have taken the lead. WOW what a close race. Pun intended. :D

As I said previously, this is a negotiating stance, and good publicity, and BOTH sides of the negotiation know it.

I am always amazed by the contract stuff. In most cases it boils down to the money. I read in Forbes magazine that Earnhardt Jr. is making approx. 15-20 million dollars a year, minimum. Does one really need more money than that ? Sadly, these NASCAR guys are risking there lives racing every time, and baseball players make more money to catch, hit and throw baseballs. Crazy world we're in.....

That's because the France family is keeping the majority of the profits for themselves, while the baseball owner's have been forced to share the wealth.

You show a picture of Dale Earnhardt's #3, then a negative opinion appears. What kind of "EARNHARDT FAN" are you???... their good buddy from Fla. :(

Earnhardt Sr. fan yes, but no longer a Nascar fan. He's probably rolling over in his grave as we speak the way Nascar has gone "hollywood".

I think that may be because everyone realizes it certainly DOESN'T mean he would be out of a ride.

Oh Thats For Sure! But Theresa Will not Let Her Meal Ticket Leave! Jr Is Not Dale, But It's The Name. Without Him, D.E.I. Might Not Do As Good.

Thanks for the link, Vinny. It's further proof that certain media types are irresponsible, asking questions tthat have nothing to do with racing, andinstead trying to pry into people's personal affairs, which really aren't any of their business. It has turned NASCAR into a real Hollywood type tabloid world, a place it really never went before. No wonder so many loyal fans have turned to other things.
As for Mr Harvick and his inane comments, I didn't know there was an attendance sheet for owners at each race. One would think he'd concentrate on his racing needs, and leave his other personal opinions out of it. Far from being a superstar like the driver he took over from, he needs to work on that angle of his own life, and stay out of other people's business.

Dude, he "INCORPORATED" his name. I saw his yacht in Daytona. It was called "SUNDAY MONEY". Now that's Hollywood. Sorry dude, it's all about the $$$$$$$, SR. or JR., it's still Earnhardt.
