View Full Version : To all & any drivers-
Since the message board is going crazy- here’s something. Just out of curiosity, when was your first race? What track and division was in it? If you remember, where did you finish? :help:

First race was the 2005 NEETS Frankenduro right here at Mountain Speedway. Started 29, did three laps and stalled the car, and finished 61st out of 63 :disgusted . I hit the wall every lap too :help:. the three hour trip up, and the four hour wait in cold and snow before the race, to be cut short by a 45 cent fuse.

You forgot to mention you finished in the top 4, LOL!
I think mine was in ’91 at Greenwood Valley Action Track-believe it or not, in the “light” kart class, LOL
Don’t remember the place I finished in, but it was third to last.

My first race(B-modified production) was run at the old Englishtown dragstrip (now Raceway Park), blew the motor but won the race, hehe............... :help:
My first roundy-round race was as a substitute for an injured driver at the old "square" at Flemington in the sportsman division, I finished on the other side of the turn two wooden wall/fence, hehe...........
By the way, I can't remember the years but I think it was about 43BC............

I never got the chance to race anything other than enduro's at Riverhead in the early 90's. That's when they started up to 110 cars in 4 races in 1 day!
But my first race I ended up on the roof of someone's Camaro!!. I took the hood, carb and windshield right out of the guys car!! He was so scared all he did was stand in the infield repeating over and over " Oh geez, Oh geez!! lol!
We pulled my car off the roof, checked it out, pulled back on the track and finished the race. I believe that car did several more races with other drivers.
Those were that days!!!
