Last year the fields were down on a weekly basis.

I was just curious how many we might have on weekly basis this year, hopefully more than last year.

Where did they all go? Do you know how much it costs to run a top 10 modified each week?

People forget money does not grow on trees and sponsors are hard to come by.

Sad state of affairs for the modified division if there are only 8 cars as of March 15th running the full schedule.

Hey Debbie,

What's Kenny going to be up to?

Right now due to lack of sponsorship money, we will probably be running a limited Riverhead schedule.

I believe it will be more then 12, come race day, some people just get the bug. They say it year in and year out. It's promotional ploy, lol. I believe we will get more then 12 each week or guns and roses will have an album out before 2008! lol But as we know Chinese Democracy been done for 4 years and still hasn't come out and will be the biggest piece of rubber nuggets that collect in the turns of Riverhead or that they serve at the stands (chicken nuggets, we call them rubber nuggets.) But either way I think it will look better come June when it's nice out.

Jessica is just awaiting finalization of a proposal from a yet to be named car owner. She comes with good sponsorship and a good publicist.

Spoke to Mike Andrews on Tues, he is in for the full season.

Jaws - is Andrews running his 10x again?

If what I heard is true, then it's gonna be hard for me. I already run on a limited budget, so it's hard enough to buy a set of tires at last years cost and now I hear the price went up again. That's pretty bad when you can spend less on a set of tires if you run the tour than running at Riverhead.

Jaws

That's one of the reason some competitors have moved to Mountain. Tires are much less there.

I wonder if there will be a Rookie of the Year contest this year...not many rooks

LongIslandJam
03-16-2007, 08:04 AM
2 Rookies so far - Chris Beutler and Bobby Gardner. That's a solid Rookie field.

Past rookie fields
2006 - 3 (Christiansen/Bonsignore/Carman)
2005 - 3 (R. Turbush/Darch/Jimmy Blewett)
2004 - 5 (Accardi/Sapienza/Denniston/Tooker/Wholey)
2003 - 4 (Niederauer/Vogel Jr./Manno/Eastman Jr.)
2002 - 4 (Rogers/Brunnhoelzl III/Ralston/T. White)

A little lighter than normal, but I'm sure more will come out of the woodwork.

I spoke with Gary McDonald's crew chief, and Gary will be running Riverhead full time, along with a few out of town shows.

Just an update: 36 Modifieds are registered through the Riverhead office. We are also seeking out our unknowns and as we find out, we will update.

And also folks, be sure to not to forget to update your profile by going to www.longislandjam.com/Information/teamform.htm . It's FREE promotion for your sponsors or need for sponsors.

Thanks,

Jimmy Blewett will most likely run Wall Speedway Saturdays- or Stafford Motorspeedway on Friday Nights. And Most likely Whelen Modfied Tour :)

Jimmy is going to be running a full schedule at Thompson on Thurs nights, the full WMT schedule and whatever nights he can make at Wall Stadium in a family prepared mod. But Riverhead is right down the street from the shop, so you never know.

JA You forgot the 78 of Jeff Andrade. I hear that he will be back behind the wheel of his always pretty Mod. :applause:

It's been a while since we've seen Jeff, and yes he's got a beautiful mod. Good to see him back:)

Right now the unofficial Jam tally is at 17. With a few more guys on the seesaw, we could have stronger regular fields weekly with the occasional visitor. Hold on to that helmet Dennis Freese, it looks like an exciting year:) .
