Thanks everyone,

Glad you enjoyed them. They were all from old negatives that I scanned over the weekend. I thought I lost all those old pics a long time ago when I moved in '93 and lost some photo albums I had. When I moved to NC, I found all the old negatives in an old box and now have them back, isn't technology wonderful? :)

Stefanikfan, I was in my teens when I took all the pics too :)

I'll have a bunch more to post in the weeks coming up.

Great stuff! Thanks for sharing those.

I hope you find more from Pocono. I'm working on a project to bring it back for online racing.

Fran, I can not believe I am older than you....I've actually been to Trenton once in my younger days! :)

If I remember correctly, Richie won it the year I went.

Great pics Tooner. I have a question. In the picture of an accident at Wall, #44 Vinnie Green, was he ok? That looks like a horrific accident with the whole front end disconnected from the car.

He walked, err limped away from it. I have that race on VHS somewhere, just need to convert it to DVD.

Linda, I've got a few more pix of the accident in my 1981 gallery. click here. (http://www.racerhub.com/photos/showgallery.php?cat=583&page=6) I took 2 pictures and stopped because I thought he must have died. The 3rd and 4th picture show him after he got out of the car. I couldn't believe it, he not only survived, but I think a slight ankle injury was all he received. My first trip to Wall and an accident I'll never forget, and it had a happy ending.

Wow...what great pics Howie...as usual. That is something to see him walk away from that. It only says how safe and necessary a roll carriage can be for the drivers. Thanks for the pics.

Great shots Howie.

I know I'm getting older, but if I remember correctly, he only hurt his ankle, and it was because back then they just had a thin sheet metal floor, not the steel plate used today. His foot went though the floorboard and that's what caused the injury.

In the Tony H crash at ROC 80; who is in the 711 Don Lajoie or Bob Poverari?

Hi Woody,

If you mean the crash when Tony H. drove the orange x9, it was Charlie Jarzombek, his car was renumbered 11 since Ron Bouchard qualified in front of him in the #1. So they just put a white peice of duct tape over the large Harley Davidson style #1 to make it an 11. Back then, whomever qualified further up in the field got to keep the number, and another car with the same number had to change their numbers. It did not go by points like it does today.
