For my 2 cents, I'd suggest - I84 west to Route 2 east. Route 2 to Hwy 11 (Exit 17 I believe), follow that to the end and turn left. Go to the stop light and turn right (Route 85) - follow that to the track (about 7 miles). I figure it's about 1 hour 15 min unless you fly but watch out for radar on Route 2 (it's the road to the casinos) and they are very often out there.

Howie, it's exit 19 I believe off of RT 2 (I should know by now, going there weekly the last few years). The way I was told was fastest was take RT 32 to 395, they said its about an hour. I will most likely be making the trip myself as well.

You are right Ben. Rand McNally also says it is infact Exit 19. I should know too, I've been going that way since before Route 2 was built. (Who looks at signs anymore?)

Don't know if 32 is quicker or not, Never went from Stafford to Waterford, but I prefer roads with passing zones. Don't picture there are a lot on 32. Just guessing. Just quessing at the time it'll take too.

I live in Norwich. For my money, I'd go 32 to 395. Stafford for me door to door is 35 minutes with traffic, although I do use the 'shortcut' that uses the XTRA Mart parking lot to go around the park/school to get in/out of the track. 32 can be tedious at times but there are places to pass if you get stuck behind someone out for a drive so to speak. Waterford is 15 mins from the 32/2/395 split. I'd say it can be done under an hour, but I agree with Ben it can be done safely in an hour...

I also live in the area and take Rte 32 South to I-395 South to Route 85 North (exit 77). This takes about as long as driving there from Hartford. Thus you save all that time on I-84 West to Hartford. Bonus is cheaper gas in Willimantic.

Could also take 190 to 91. Then pick up 2 in Hartford to 11 to 82 to 85.
About an hour.

I dunno bout that one. Stafford on 190 to 91 takes 25 minutes. Exit 47 on 91 to Waterford takes 55 minutes. So there's an hour twenty minutes.

I would do 84W to Rt2 to 11 to 82 to 85
or 32 to 395 to 85.
Six of one half dozen the other. An hour trip give or take 5 minutes.

Route 32 to 395 right to the Speedbowl entrance.
