I just spoke with Justin and he broke his wrist in three places. He's scheduled for surgery later this week. Best wishes go to Justin on behalf of LongIslandJam.com. Hope he feels better and soon enough he'll be back behind the wheel!

Thanks everyone, it was a rough day for sure, we thrashed to get the car back together after the heat race.. I really need to thank my entire crew, along with the Solomito's, Brigati and Ambrose family, and the Bertuccio crew... they got me back out there with enough time to even practice! The car actually drove the best afterwards! The accident was a very freak accident, my right arm went from about 3 o'clock to at least 7-8 o'clock. I broke 3 bones and will need surgery this week. I will be back later this summer to break this "sophomore slump" before the year ends. I want to thank the entire staff and everyone at Riverhead Raceway and all my friends and family that called to check in, means a lot... and watch for the 28 to be plenty quick in July because we've got 2 months to get it right! :applause:

thanks again,
Justin Bonsignore

PS excuse my one handed typing

OK hurry up and get the surgery done. Since you dont have any plans for Saturday nights for the next couple of months, you're coming with us. KER Motorsports needs a good lefty cookie/ketchup thrower and no matter what Kwaz says, start times are later on Saturdays!

I might need an explaination on what this means.... cookie/ketchup thrower??? lol It sounds so silly, but might be fun.lol

ohh Justin get well buddy, hopefully the only downtime in your racing career. You are headed to great things in racing.

It turns out the radius shattered into a bunch of pieces and I will need at least 1 plate and some screws, maybe more! I am seeing a very good hand specialist and I will have the surgery this Wednesday. Doc told me no street driving for a week or two, and he "recommends" no racing for 4 months... but what do they know anyway, we will play it week by week.. right now, my goal is to make it back for the 77 lapper! We will see though!

Aas far as ketchup/cookie throwing, that's not a public topic to be discussed... lol

Maybe the Doctor can install a mini-nerf bar in that area to protect you from future injury?
Just take care of it, get it right, and get well soon. You have plenty of time to go racing, so don't mess it up by coming back too soon.:)

Best of luck, Justin!

Don't risk life long pain or reinjury by overly hurrying back, but know that all of us are pulling for you, and want you in that 77 lapper.....

Justin, get well soon. As others have said get your arm back up to full strength first, you need it for a few more years yet. Then come back strong.

I just spoke to Justin's mom. Justin did real well in surgery, a little more damage then they expected. Some screws, a plate and a great deal of pain right now. He will be home from the hospital tomorrow.

Get well soon Justin. UF says listen to the doctors or he will make a special trip up to visit your left hand. LOL.
Miss you lots.

Matty - make sure you take care of your brother. He needs all the help he can get. LOL.

Love -

UF , AJ , Alex and Kenzie.
