There was a meeting about this on Monday May 14th at Riverhead Raceway. We had a discussion with the club members about the short track. There were issues discussed about the short track and until they are fixed we will be racing on the big track for the next 3 races. Thank you

It looks like I wasted some money on go karts, all because people would rather drive around on the big track and can't handle the small one. :disgusted

The big track is like a Sunday drive, it's not racing. Those people that are pansie's about the small track, SUCK IT UP. Short track racing is the best, and until we race it under racing conditions, then how can you knock it?

We've raced it once, and I believe everyone in the Lite division had nothing bad to say about the short track, and that was the most exciting race that day from what I've heard. I was in it and I've never had so much fun racing before, so I think they should run everyone else on the big track, and run lite on the short RACETRACK.

No complaints from us, senior champ. My son liked it. A little rough, but he liked it.

I thought the plan was to run every other race small track....large track. Why wouldn't anyone want this for their kids racing. It brings so much more exprience to the driver that is learning. Even veterans learn every season.

I'd like to do more racing on the small track. I didn't think it was bad at all.

The first problem is getting the help needed to set up the track with the tires.
The second problem is the small track is too rough. (bumpy). This was the concensus at the meeting. The majority of the teams want to run the big track but it is labor intensive to prepare it. The idea of the smaller track was to make the work of setting the track up and taking it down easier. The Kart count was down while running the small track. So it was decided to run the big track, keep the Kart count up and WE ALL have to do more work setting the tires up. That's it! We will run any track.. Lets go!:applause:

Well the set up of the small track will take maybe HALF the time of the set up as the big track. And about the kart count, the LITE class hasn't had that many go karts in two years, and STILL, with people going out and buying go karts to run the lite class. So if the whole lite class wants to run it, LETS DO IT! If we continue to run the big track, I won't be there. I want to RACE, not drive around. Everyone who grew up running on the big track is SPOILED and doesn't know what real racing is all about. A few little bumps are going to stop people from racing, that's ridiculous? Grow up and let's go RACE.

Hey Kev, I bet we can get people to help us set up the real race track.

That's an idea. If we're willing to set up the small track, I don't see why we wouldn't be allowed to race on it.

This is what I'm talking about. I think if you can get your entire class to want to run the small track, do it!! We already have people that are willing to set the track up. Let's go racing.

DURING THE LAST MEETING AT RIVERHEAD, I OFFERED TO DO A WEEKLY UPDATE TO ALL MEMBERS IN ORDER TO HELP WITH THE COMMUNICATION PROBLEMS WE HAVE AT EKRA. PLEASE SEND ME YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESSES AND EVERY WEEK YOU'LL GET AN UPDATE ABOUT OUR CLUB. FOR THE NEXT THREE WEEKS, STARTING JUNE 3RD, WE WILL BE RUNNING THE BIG TRACK. AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE DAY, WE WILL HAVE A MANDATORY MEETING TO DISCUSS THE DAYS EVENTS. EMAIL ME AT VISCONTIRACING@AOL.COM

Why can't we race the short track one of those three races? I think we veteran's that have raced at different tracks other than Riverhead Raceway should have a little more say, but because of a few bumps, it's stopping us from a majority vote to run the short track. Well, if it's to bumpy for you, then are you really a racer, or do you need to run on a perfectly smooth race track? IMPOsSIBLE, so go get a rib protecter and a helmet strap and LET'S GO RACE ON A MORE FUN TRACK TO RACE ON, not the "out for a Sunday drive" track.

I'm Not The One To Decide Big/small Track. Im Only Posting Info To The Members.
I Don't Care Which Track We Run....I Just Like To Race. But If You Want To Voice Your Opinon, Then Speak Your Mind At The June 3rd Post Race Meeting.

We can't do much more than that John. I don't think we're going to get our way. I wish Medford was still around, then there wouldn't be a question about which track I'd be running. So everyone who wants to race the small track go to the meeting and speak up. I'll be there!

so this weekend every class will race the big track correct???

If the WHOLE CLASS agrees that they want to run the short track, then they can run the short track, but the whole class would have to agree!! The rest of the classes will be running the big track.
