The balance of all the pictures from Memorial Day are in the works. The 4cyls, 6 cyls, and others are all 'in cyber', should be up soon.

There's a bunch of them, we're just having some computer-loading difficulties since Sun eve, L.I. Jams-Jay's working on it.

Andy Owen's photos in their entirety are now up, along with Bob Woodford's victory lane photos.

This used to be below our old photo pages when we manually created them,
"NOTE: The photos displayed may only be downloaded
for personal and private use only.
You may not republish/reproduce them at another web site or anywhere else
without express written consent of LongIslandJam.com."
It seems we have found them on myspace, personal websites and also cropped out to take our logo off.
THIS IS AGAINST THE LAW without our written permission.
So for this reason, we had to stop this because of a few who just don't get it.

What's the big deal if people aren't making a profit off of them? Isn't that the only way it's illegal?

Unfortunately, if it's on the web, its going to get copied, reproduced, copied again, copied and copied, over and over.

Shame it had to come to this.

That's the whole reason why Joe (Cutri) started putting watermarks across his whole pictures instead of the bottoms...he found his pictures hanging up printed in full size! They didn't make a profit on doing this but he lost a profit and that's what the whole problem is. Think about this: some photographers make a living off of this, if their work is stolen so is their "paycheck"

We still find a lot of his pictures with the full watermark all over the place on web. All the photographers are nice enough people, I am sure if permission was asked to use watermarked photos it wouldn't be a problem because it does get their names out...but how many do ask?

Bottom line is, like Erin explained, these pictures are owned, and placed here for news and entertainment purposes. If the photographers choose not to make them free to the public, it's their choice. The camera wasn't free, so the picture must be worth something, right?

Ok, let me put it this way. You say what's the big deal if people aren't profiting from it. Well, how do we know if they are? Would have to have someone searching the internet for them. Understand.
Next, as said above, you can watermark. We would rather use the small logo at the bottom so it doesn't disturb the overall picture and lock out the downloading of them instead. That's just our preference.
Also the full picture printing, as for Joe, loses him money in sales. We don't sell our photos as we are a news reporting website. Also as WJ said, copyright toward photos.
Really sorry if this is a problem as we had an issue a few years back where the pictures were taken and cropped to take our name off, used on a website like it was their photos and this was a major issue. We would rather avoid this happening again. Our photo galleries are permanent so they can be accessed any time in the future.
Again, sorry we had to do this.
