With severe thunderstorms in the area, tornado watches to the south, and a torrential downpour at the conclusion of qualifying, the management of the Canaan Fair Speedway, Canaan,NH; was forced to postpone the balance of their program Saturday night and carry the scheduled feature races over to Sunday afternoon. The True Value Modified Racing Series, with 29 cars registered to compete, was at Canaan for the first of two events this season. Claremont, NH’s Sean Bodreau, Westbrook, ME’s Tony Ricci, and Bridgewater, NH’s Dan Douville scored wins in 12 lap heat lap races. The 15 lap consolation race was nabbed by Ed Dachenhausen, Danbury CT. A year ago, the series battled the same fate, persistent showers, but the program was completed. The delays forced the race up against a track curfew shortening the event to 92 laps. Windsor Locks CT; ace Les Hinckley won the race.

Gates to the Canaan Fair Speedway will open at 11:00 AM with the conclusion of the program, including the 100 lap True Value Modified Racing Series race, starting at 2:00 PM. All 29 cars on hand will start the event.
