FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: JUNE 9,2007
ROSLIN, WOHL AND RAIN WALL SATURDAY VICTORS.
Make Up Mains for Four Classes Set for June 16.
WALL TWP., N.J. -- Bruce Roslin, of Tuckerton, and Elliott Wohl, of
Freehold, won their respective Wall Township Speedway features
before light rain washed away the remaining Whelen Engineering
Night program Saturday.
Roslin captured his first career INEX Legends Cars feature by holding
back Mike Stull and Don Nuels all 25 laps. The Calabreeze Pools No. 04
600 Racing/Yamaha driver had split the eight-lap heats with Stull
earlier that night.
"It was intense as it looked," said the Roslin Racing team leader. "I've
had some bad luck here in four years of racing. I think this' the first time
each one of a three-car team has won here." (Son Dan and Dennis Macri
had won earlier features.)
Wohl won his first sportsman main of the year by repelling seven-time
class king Chas Okerson by .701 sec. after 25 laps. The Dependabilitees
Wohl-Chevrolet No. 14 driver, Okerson and their 11 colleagues all finished
despite a three-week layoff.
A heavy mist at the start of the RMP Modified Affordable Division feature
became a light rain after a lap two restart, forcing WTS officials to postpone
the remaining program. The MAD, NASCAR Whelen All-American Series
modified, Value Towing Factory Stock and street stock divisions are to run
their features at 6 p.m. June 16 before that scheduled program.
The Wall Sunday Series round is still set for noon tomorrow. The Four
Cylinder Supermodifieds are to make their WTS debut along with double
features for teenage INEX Legends Cars and Bandolero drivers plus a
host of kart and kart-based racing. Gates to free grandstand admission
are to open at 11 a.m.
