It still has not sunk in that my dad has a severe stroke with severe brain damage. Very tough seeing him in intensive care on a fully operational ventilator in a comatose state three days now. Last night, he took a turn for the worse as far as being put on the ventilator, because of breathing problem from the stroke. I can tell you this, for those who do not know, He is absolutely a Real true old school mechanic from starting turning wrenches at the age of 5 (1929) in a junk yard behind his house, had his own car at 12 years old, World War II mechanic and heavy machinery, owned his own automotive mechanical business from 1944-1967, taught automotive in veeb (boces) Garden City Park, 5 years, and then managed a Texaco gas station for 9 years in Albertson. Master Mechanic with the highest ASE ratings in ALL fields, on to Delahanty Auto School as head instructor for 11 years in Hempstead, til 1987, when at the age of 63, became the master maintenance technician at American Golf Corp at the Golf Course by Throgs Neck Bridge for the next 11 years, retiring in 1998 at the age of 74. My Dad is now 83 years old and just celebrated his 59th year as a father to my Older and only Brother Michael, as well as celebrating his 46 th year as a True hero with great human, life values and wisdom and Father, Best Friend, and really My Best man (also in my wedding) with me.

As far as stock car racing,he owned and maintained two modifieds from 1946-1961, the #656 driven by Tex Ring and the #959 driven by Billy Dee's (lutes). Then in 1965, got me into a quarter midget at the age of 4, thru the age of 17, where we ran and I drove a top finishing car for most of the years, along with Mike Ewanisko, and Tony Ferrente.
He told me on this Father's Day about retarding the ignition timing on the stock cars with a choke cable and housing, so that the drivers could step on the gas pedal all the way without worrying about spinning tires and getting loose and there was no pre-detonation on the head of the piston. Hmm? Same priniciple as somethings today, only 60 years ago..

Thanks for listening to me blab, and all I can do is as for your Prayers, that he has the outcome which God plans for him, Thanks Dan Dombal x #63. Raffled off Charger 2004.
Below are a few of the many hundred pics I took of my Dad, just double click the pics for bigger size. Thanks again for listening to me vent. Thanks Jam and The Racing Community.
