RAY EVERNHAM'S "RACING FOR A REASON" AT WALL TOWNSHIP SPEEDWAY AUGUST 4TH
by Racing For A Reason and Wall Township Speedway Staff

STATESVILLE, N.C. and WALL TWP., N.J.(July 20, 2007) – On August 4th, NASCAR stars Ray Evernham, Kasey Kahne, Elliott Sadler, Erin Crocker and Bill Elliott will be Racing for a Reason at Wall Township Speedway in New Jersey. This short track night of action will feature the stars in an RMP Modified Affordable Division 20 lap race giving Evernham a chance to return to his roots in the driver seat at his hometown track. Ray Evernham will also compete in the Modified Division's 40 lap feature driving Jimmy Blewett's Statusgreen No. 66. Wall Township Speedway will donate a portion of the night’s proceeds to Evernham’s foundation, Racing for a Reason. The Whelen All American Modifieds, Street Stocks, INEX Legends, Value Towing Factory Stocks, and TQ's will also be in competition.
Racing for a Reason’s mission is to help those in need and fund the ongoing research to find a cure for cancer. The main beneficiary of the foundation is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, a cause close to home for Evernham as his own son Ray J is a leukemia survivor.

In addition to the feature racing event there will be more Saturday night fun including a silent auction filled with NASCAR memorabilia and a VIP meet and greet option. Gates open at 3:00 p.m. and general admission tickets will run $40 per person. Racing starts at 6:30 p.m. A limited number of fans will receive autographs from their favorite drivers Evernham, Kahne, Sadler, Elliott and Crocker on a first come first serve basis. To purchase event tickets in advance call Wall Township Speedway at 732-681-6400 or for more general information visit their website at www.wallspeedway.com (http://www.wallspeedway.com).

This event is one of many fundraising efforts in 2007 that Evernham’s foundation will partake in to support their mission. For more information on how to catch Racing for a Reason’s draft, visit www.racingforareason.org (http://www.racingforareason.org).
