CRANSTON, RHODE ISLAND: Mark Conti, 18, of Cranston, RI, needs your help. At the tender age of 4, Mark was diagnosed with brain cancer. After intense chemotherapy his cancer went into remission. He thought his battle with cancer had ended. Then, in April 2007 Mark learned he had leukemia (AML) and needed a life-saving bone marrow transplant. A matching donor has not been found. Donors of all backgrounds are needed. Mark is currently undergoing treatment at Rhode Island Hospital as the search continues.

Please consider donating blood and registering to be a marrow donor in his honor.

To join the National Marrow Donor Program you must be:
18 to 60 years old and in good health ...
Give a swab of your cheek cells for marrow typing ...
Be willing to help anyone you may match, if later you are a match, blood samples are needed.
