With the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour coming to town this week, we’d like to start this effort off by giving you the schedule of events for Saturday, as they are somewhat different than we are used to. The NASCAR WMT haulers are slated to enter the pits at 10:00 am with our cars to follow. However, you can still arrive if you’d like for the normal 12:00 noon gate opening if you prefer. Practice for the WMT will hit the track first from 1:30 pm until 3:00 pm. The Chargers and Blunderbusts will then warm-up from 3:00 pm until just before 4:00 pm, with both classes splitting nearly an hour of practice. The Chargers will go to our scales at 4:00 pm, with time trials for their 30-lap main event at 4:30pm. The Blunderbust heats will follow Charger time trials. At 5:15 pm the WMT will take time trials and we hope to have our National Anthem and pace car parade at 6:00 pm
Then for the feature events, first-up will be the One-On-One Spectator Drags, which will be followed by the two 25-lap qualifying races for the WMT. After they are completed, we’ll run the Blunderbust and Charger main events, that will then be followed by the 140-lap Miller Lite NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour “Flash” race. Keep in mind if there are extenuating circumstances due to weather, this entire schedule could switch the day of the race. In the event of a complete rainout, the show will be run Sunday, August 5th.
