Stats here on LIJam
Fred Rogers 23 wins
Winning Seasons 3
First Win 6/8/84
Last Win 8/22/87

It seems, for some reason, that whomever is keeping records of wins for the Blunderbusts over the years has forgotten about 1983. Fred Rogers won 11 times in 1983.
Bringing his overall wins in the division to 31!!!!
[Didn't ask about the 1987 last win as I didn't have this when I saw him, so it may be more.]
1983-11 wins
1984-10 wins
1985-10 wins
I just saw Fred today, who has been a friend of mine for years, and he corrected this stat.
He has the trophys from 1983 to prove this stat.
He had also won in the bomber division before this too.

Well, I guess that puts him AHEAD of Tommy Walkowiak, for now at least.
Glad to see we got it corrected.

I used to love watching Fred race. The best was watching him squeeze his big head into a motor cycle type helmet, it just didn't look right.

We ran Fred's original car, forgot when, 88-89, with Richie Vlacci driving. Fred came back, I think it was 92ish with a brand new car Fred and I did, with Sonny the welder doing the cage and it was like 3 races and it was smashed and bent, totally destoyed and Fred gave up. JP Hunter was the sponsor and we kept it at JP Hunters storage barn in Laurel. Still remember, he was pushed into the wall then someone rammed him in the rear. Front and rear bent bad. He didn't return nor will he now, even though I always ask him to do it one more year!!!!!

Well, look at the win totals from 83 to 88. I believe Fred, Mark Tooker and I won probably 90 percent of the races in a 5 year span. All won in a short time, not spead out over 10 years.

Ain't that the truth!!!
It was a funny sight!!!
With the last car I mentioned above, he had to have an 8 track player in it and he played John Philip Sousa music when he raced.
I am dead serious!!!! You could hear it on the front stretch when he lined up!!!
And fisherman, you are pretty close on that!!!
