Kevin "Bono" Mannion and Gary Putnam along with a bunch of other transplanted (to NC) modified fans built a modified as a tribute to Tom Baldwin. Tony Stewart was supposed to drive it at NHIS but was unable to. JJ Yeley qualified the car fifth and will drive the car in Saturday's race.

Mary took this photo of the car and crew.

Would that logo on the left rear quarter panel be a JR Motorsports logo? If so, what is their interest in the car?
Awesome tribute

Kevin 'Bono' Mannion is Martin Truex's crew chief, therefore the JR motorsports connection.

I also saw another angle of the car and on the side if the hood is a logo that might make one want to believe the motor came out of the JR Motorsports shop, can anyone confirm this ? Also i think it is an awesome looking car, even though black is not my favorite color.

My buddy Zoom-Kitty sent me a couple of shots and I had no Idea who was driving or the story behind the ride, I think that is cool as SH++ would have loved to see Smoke wheel #7ny

Can anyone identify the logos circled in this photo? I'm trying to do this car for the Simodified.com simulation and can't quite identify them. Thanks!

That's a great tribute. I can't wait to see the 7NY on the track in person. I'm sure JJ will give it a good ride.

BTW Howie, that's a great picture of Lou you've got as your avatar. I do really miss the guy. I love going to the races, but he just made it so much more enjoyable.

I believe the top of the hood on the flat part is the engine size and weight.

Good eye, Tooner. Looks like that's exactly it. Thanks.

As for the other, my only guess so far is Mother's.

The upper sticker says "358CI 2810LBS" the other says "Burns Stainless". Sorry they had a rain cover on when I remembered to get a shot for you.

the whole connection is this JR Motorsports provided all the funding for the car and DEI supplied the powerplant therefore the DEI and JR Motorsports connection to this fine piece of tribute history and the same 3.00 piece of hose that haunts all racers to this day kepy J.J. from possibly winning that race, qualified fifth with a push aint to bad and we all know the "TIGER" never had a push "loose is Fast Hulk" he always told me. Awsome job by everyone at DEI and JR Motorsports. and yes on the hood is the Cu. In. and Weight along with the DEI Logo.
