Since many requested this, here is our tentative schedule for October 20th

9AM: Pits Open
930AM-11AM: Tech/Registration
11AM-1130AM: Late Model practice (hot pits)
1130AM-1200noon: Street Stocks & Truck practice
1200noon-1230PM: Late Model “Happy Hour” Practice
1245PM: Drivers Meeting
115PM: LM Qualifying (time trials)
2PM: Heats – Street Stocks & Trucks
Consis (if needed): Street Stocks, Late Models, Trucks
4PM: Features
Trucks – 25 laps
Late Model Challenge – 100 laps
Street Stocks – 75 laps

Reminder: there is NO Friday Night practice.

You must have not seen last year's race, one of the most exciting late model races of 2007. I encourage you to take a look at the highlights at

While I'm with you normally on time trials and single file restarts, we do them for a reason.

Time trials are a quick and efficient way to move the show and prevent some carnage for teams already on a low buck. If we had a jumbotron, I would play some exciting footage during time trials, but unfortunately our budget doesn't allow that.

To make the race interesting, we'll invert the time trialers based on a fan's pick of the hat.

And the single file restarts provided some "real" racing during the event. Order a DVD and check it out.

Yeah, last year's NELMA race was fun to watch. I must agree! Especially the last few laps. :D

Look at the entry list, it is filled with many excellent Late Model drivers. I cannot wait to call this race from the booth.
