I have received word that Lake Erie Speedway is doing away with their Truck division for next season. That is going to leave a few drivers with trucks on their hands, but the track is trying to help them out. For more information about the trucks, contact Andrew Moore at Lake Erie (amoore@lakeeriespeedway.com).

Are they the same as the trucks that race at Riverhead?

I don't have any of the specifics of what their (former) truck division rules are/were...I would say your best bet would be to contact Andrew Moore at the email address above if you're seriously interested.

I was up at Lake Erie a year or two ago. If my memory serves me correctly, they were more in between a Riverhead Enduro Truck and a Wall Truck.

The Lake Erie trucks are Similar, but not the same as RH trucks. The main thing is the location of the rear springs. The 44 and 31 SPT are Lake Erie trucks that were slightly modified to fit into RH rules. Nothing drastic....They are metric front clips with the rear center section fabricated. However, Riverhead let the 31 and 44 be part of the division.

I'm curious. No one has given a reason why they are dropping their truck division, and after looking at the pictures, it looks like there are more trucks running there than Riverhead.

I didn't receive any explanation as to why, I was simply told that it was happening. If I do hear anything, I'll be sure to pass it along...

Interesting that their website is now gone.

They have rules meetings for the Lake Erie classes on Sunday, November 4 with the Trucks included.
The Trucks had about an average of 8-10 there weekly in 2007.

I believe they are looking to add an Econo Mod division...this may be part of the reason. I will see Joe L. in two weeks, at the POTPA(Penn. Oval Track Promoters Assoc.) meeting.
I had no problem getting on their website.
Did anyone else notice that Indiana now has a new york style mod division for 2008? Here is the link: http://www.indianamodifieds.com/index.html
