The 4/6 cylinder Enduro “Trophy Trucks” will be part of the ABC car crushing Mountain Madness Enduro Series for 2008. The trucks will compete in all events and points will be kept, along with a champion being crowned at the 2008 Mountain Speedway awards banquet. Laps for each truck event will be pro-rated (3 laps per truck) based on the amount of trucks signed in the pits. Complete schedule and rules will be available in the near future.
There will be no entry fee for the Trophy truck race, however you will need to obtain a pit pass for each event. The trucks may also compete in the 100 lap Enduros but must pay the Enduro entry fee.
Interested drivers should contact the Mountain Speedway office to reserve their truck number. Numbers will be on a first come, first serve basis. Please contact the speedway office at (570)384-3215 to reserve number asap or with any further questions you may have.

The first event for 2008, will be the FROSTBITE II enduro on Saturday, January 5th, 2008.

2008-4/6 CYLINDER-ENDURO “TROPHY TRUCK” RULES

1. Any 1965 or newer Domestic or Import small pick up truck with OEM 4 or 6 cylinder engine. Truck must be factory stock from bumper to bumper. No all wheel drive or 4 wheel drives. All exterior trim, signal lenses, head and tail lights must be removed. Engine compartment must be easily accessible (hood pins recommended).
2. 4 point roll cage required. Roll cage design should be for maximum driver safety and not to reinforce frame, body, or alter geometry of truck.
3. Racing seat highly recommended. 5 point racing harness required.
4. Driver side window net mandatory. No passengers.
5. All doors and tailgate must be welded, chained, or bolted shut.
6. All glass must be removed. Stock windshield may remain or can be replaced with lexan. No excessively cracked windshields. If replaced with lexan, must have at least (2) supports in center of winshield, minimum 1/8 inch x 1 inch flat steel or similar.
7. Interior of truck must be gutted of all carpet, plastic, and flammable materials.
8. All interior steel structure must remain intact, with the exception of inner door skins which may only be removed for door bar installation. Minimum (3) door bars on drivers side and (2) door bars on passenger side. Dash board may remain and can be covered with sheet metal.
9. No additional bracing or reinforcing of truck, with the exception of roll cage.
10. Truck must be factory stock for year, make, and model. Stock bumpers only. Bumpers must be chained to prevent loss. No reinforcing of bumpers allowed. Full tail gate required.
11. Cargo bed may be covered with sheet metal.
12. 4 inch tall clear lexan spoiler permitted.
13. Suspension components must be stock for year, make, and model. Absolutely no modifications to any suspension components allowed. Stock springs and shocks in stock location only. No spring spacers. Springs must mirror each other from side to side. No excessive camber. Minimum 6 inch ride height measured from lowest part of frame rail to ground.
14. Any 7 inch maximum tread width passenger car or light truck DOT radial tire. No RV, off-road, snow tires, or re-caps. No made for racing tires. All season tires permitted. 60 series or higher (60, 65, 70, etc.). No shaving of tires. No wheel weights.
15. Locked rear ends permitted. Trucks with locked rear must run same size tire on all four corners. Open rear trucks may run different size tires on any corner. All trucks must be same wheel diameter on all four corners.
16. Aftermarket wheels permitted. Maximum 7 inch width. No aluminum wheels. No wheel spacers.
17. Engine must be stock for year, make, and model. Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) tag must remain intact.
18. Stock motor and transmission mounts only.
19. OEM Carburetor or Fuel Injection only, for year, make, and model. Fuel Injected trucks must have a fuel pump cut-off switch installed and clearly marked ON-OFF, highlighted with bright orange paint. Switch will be tested periodically.
20. Fuel cell recommended. 12 gallon maximum. Fuel shut-off valve recommended. Cell should be mounted as far forward as possible, in cargo bed and centered. Cell must be securely fastened to cargo bed with no less than (4) steel straps, 1/8 inch x 1 inch steel, with minimum 3/8 inch grade 8 bolts and large flat washers or steel straps with lock nuts to prevent from pulling through bed.
21. Battery may be relocated to cargo bed, as far forward as possible, and be securely fastened. Rear lexan window must be used if truck does not have bed cover. An access panel must be installed in bed cover, for inspection of fuel cell and/or battery. Battery shut off switch required within drivers reach, if battery is relocated.
22. Stock automatic or standard transmission only. Stock steel clutch and flywheel. Stock automatic torque converter. removable inspection cover or minimum 1 inch inspection hole in bell housing required.
23. Stock radiator and cooling system. NO ANTI FREEZE (during race).
24. Stock transmission coolers only.
25. Rub rails allowed. Must be capped, flush to body, and SECURELY fastened. No sharp ends. Subject to tech inspector approval.

As of today, there are 11 trucks registered.

Why is there no entry fee for the trucks?:confused:

In addition to the "Trophy" Truck feature event, Trucks may also enter the 100 lap enduro by paying the $50 entry fee. I know of a few that ARE planning to do the double.
