NEARA Promotions, Inc. is very proud to announce that the dates have been set for the 5th Annual Southern Tier Speedworld presented by Mike Stolarcyk Chevrolet and Country Town Auto Service that takes place at the Oakdale Mall in Johnson City , NY . The dates for the free admission car show are Friday February 29th, Saturday March 1st, and Sunday March 2nd. The show takes place during normal operating hours of the Oakdale Mall.
The 2008 edition of the very popular free Motorsports show once again will offer the people the chance to see race cars, motorcycles, racing memorabilia, racing merchandise, and obtain 2008 race schedules from area motorsports facilities.
“ When we decided to bring this show to the area, we had no idea how strongly it would be supported by the racing community “ said NEARA Promotions, Inc. President Paul Smazl. “ The fact that we’re continuing into our fifth year shows not only the support, but also the dedication of the area’s racers and racing facilities. We’re glad to be able to continue to present the show and to have the cooperation of the excellent staff and management of the Oakdale Mall and we’re in the process of putting together some surprises to commemorate the shows 5th Anniversary. “
Show Manager Robin Oltz added, “ The value of a great sponsor in Motorsports is immeasurable and once again as they have done from day one Mike Stolarcyk Chevrolet of Whitney Point, NY has stepped up to sponsor this great event and we can’t thank them enough. Through the support from Roger Batzel of Country Town Auto Service of Kirkwood, NY we’ve been able to expand our program to include an Awards Party, which we’re happy to present once again this year. The location of the Country Town Auto Service Awards Party will be announced shortly once the establishment has been selected. “
Oltz indicated that even though the calendar year 2007 isn’t over requests for entries have already come in. “ I think as this event has progressed that people have seen some very positive returns from their participation every year. We’ve noticed the calls and e – mails for entry forms have started coming in earlier each year and it’s no different with this year. So it’s very important for those wishing to participate to reserve their space now or at their earliest convenience. I would suggest to anyone that knows their driver is going to have their car on display is to get an entry for a Christmas gift. That is a very unique gift but it is a smart one because then their racecar won’t be left out of the show. “
A reminder to all racing teams, participating speedways, and vendors that space is limited inside the Oakdale Mall. So if you, your racing team, your race track, or your racing business is planning on being involved with Southern Tier Speedworld presented by Mike Stolarcyk Chevrolet and Country Town Auto Service. Don’t delay in getting your entry form in because you don’t want to get left out of the biggest free racecar show in the area.
