Don't forget to flush the water out of your motor and get ANTIFREEZE in them. Or, you'll have a blown motor before the season even starts.

Every block has drain plugs. Remove them and knock the casting sand and other muck outta' the way and just drain it. My $0.02.....

To those teams that don't tear down their engine during the winter, I might also suggest they coat the cylinder walls with a moisture protectant, similar to the way you "fog out" a marine engine for the winter.

I usually start it and let it run for a few minutes every week or so. Keeps things coated with oil and fresh fuel in the carb. More than once I've seen Holleys go bad over the Winter, I feel from condensation causing hairline cracks internally.

It's better to spend the little money on antifreeze than have to spend MORE money on a new motor.
