10) The number of times you get hit in a pileup is directly proportional to the number of times you said "I think it will go ok today".
9) You only get the lead when you need fuel.
8) If a tire can go on the wrong side, it will.
7) A part will never break during a test session, only during a race.
6) The driver behind you is always the one you punted last week.
5) The part you left at the shop is the one you need.
4) The number of laps remaining is always one more than the amount of fuel left in the car.
3) Your good car will get wrecked, your bad car will finish the race, two laps down.
2) The concrete wall is harder at the tracks you wreck at.

And the number one Law of NEXTYELL CUP Auto Racing is....

1) A 10-car pileup will never happen *behind* you!

Believe a lot of us thought about it being called Sprint Cup, thinking in the back of our minds of Sprint car racing. It would be more exciting, it would also be back to grass roots for many drivers. Who won't mind seeing Stewart, Gordan and Kahne throwing dirt at each other passing for the lead! Then we got guys like Blaney, Newman and Schrader coming up front from the back of the pack taken notice. Bob East would be a happy man!

Nah...too easy!

But I did want to add law #11: The most exciting move you make will be missed because the TV people will be away at a commercial break!

or at a NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour race!!!!!!!!!!!

Law #12...There's always a big wreck in turn three but these three single file leaders going down the front stretch are more exciting to watch on T.V.

Law #13 all suspended crew chiefs may communicate with drivers and fill in crew chiefs as well as spotters during a race, until suspension has been lifted.
