The banquets are over and the weather is terrible here in Connecticut, so I'm doing another contest question. It may look similar to the first contest question, but they are not related.

Same rules apply:

1. You may enter as many times as you want.
2. Fair game for everyone (even the Contest #1 winner, Rentawrench).

The first person to come up with the correct answer will receive:

For your favorite Nextel Cup Driver:

(2) tee shirts
(1) sweat shirt

In the event that an item is not available, together we'll come up with an alternative...

In addition, I will donate $100.00 to The Smile Train......

Questions is:

Who was the first person Norm built a Modified Tour Type engine for?

Good luck.........Linda and Norm

Robert "Red" Byron, 1st Mod Champ from 1948........?
"When he returned from the war, Byron, limp and all, returned to racing, and was still successful. In 1948, Byron became a part of the newly formed NASCAR Modified Series. Driving a PA Powered Modified for Norm Case, he won the first NASCAR-sanctioned race ever, held on February 15, 1948 at the Daytona Beach Road Course. This was one of eleven victories for Byron that season."

Yes, thanks Linda and Norm. Rich, not that the question was easy but the hardest part of this was trying to pick a favorite Cup driver.

Contest #3 will be coming up later this week. I'm not sure how it will go, as it's off the beaten path of Modifieds..........
