I just got off the phone with Carl Rackoff. Unfortunately, Carl has been diagnosed, and is currently being treated for cancer. He's very upbeat and looking to get through the course of treatments and being cancer-free at the end. In fact, he's looking forward even more to getting back out to the track and working with the Dumicich family at Riverhead with the Super Pro Trucks.

Carl, I hope that you get well quick, and that you and Betsy are back out at the track in the Spring.

Carl, I am living proof you can beat cancer. I was diagnosed in '04 (When my son was just 6 months old.) and obviously I am still here. You can make it through this, you just need to keep your head on straight, and keep working towards that goal of getting cancer free.

I spoke to Carl just before Christmas when he told me the news. I didn't feel it was my place to mention it on the Jam, but now that the news is out, I will say the same thing I told Carl. He will beat this thing and not look back. We need more people like Carl and Betsy at the track. This is just a speed bump. Get well quickly, my friend!
