Whenever we saw Richie pull into the pits my wife and I would look at each other and say. I hope Freddie comes in second. Richie knew the groove at Islip and Riverhead as well if not better then most drivers who ran the tracks on a regular basis. Charlie J and Richie Evans battles were legendary.
It's ironic that both lost their lives at Martinsville.

Enjoy it now. I honestly feel home field advantage was lost last night. As they said in pregame, this type of weather will keep the scores down, and a low scoring game will favor the underdog. Having the youngest team in the NFL they didn't handle the weather well, the youngsters didn't adjust. I am still happy, shows alot of promise for next season. Everyone is going to be a year older, they've got the experience of having dealt with the pressure of a big game, and I've no doubt their leader will be back.

I knew the Packers did not have enough to beat the Patriots, and there's nothing worse than getting the snot smacked out of ya in the Super Bowl.

Actually, this was Ted's idea. Felt creative and asked him for a different idea. Worked out ok as now I learned to add objects to the renderings. I personally don't like the front ends on these and close up views show a-frames, spindles and others parts don't connect to anything. Many, many flaws that bug me and stop me from rendering in certain angles. Glad it's the off season and gives me something new to learn.

Fran, you know they make printable decal paper. Saves hand painting number and details. Problem is, you can't print white.

Then when the cavalier body came out IMO the modified really went to hell cuz it was not even a "real" modified anymore but just a bunch of metal on a custom chassis.

I still think today's modifieds should have car bodies that are from real cars. A guy from Mahoning had a PT Cruiser modified body. Could you create a modified that was made out of say:
a Ford Focus?
a Chevy Cavalier, Aveo or Cobalt?
a PT Cruiser?

Lemme know if possible. I dont know how you make these awesome designs, but it would be cool to see. When I hit the lottery, I will open a track and our headline division will be called “Real Modifieds™”. It would be a cost effective division using either stock or purchased modified chassis but with real car bodies.

Funny you mention this as I have always thought about it. Especially the PT Cruiser car. I even have a few hand drawn ones I drew a few years back. As for a rendered one, well, maybe someday. It would take a lot of time to create the 3d template and then a paint template for it, and I just don't have that much free time. As I get more used to the rendering program, I may start to see what I can do and eventually I may be able to make a few, but with racing season and my normal job getting busier when the weather gets better, I can't see it happening for awhile. It is a big learning curve and I have no issues with that but this would be a full time learning process to do.

I don't think a newly designed body would be 'hard to do', it's just I don't have enough knowledge, yet, of the software. Every time I render a car I check out different settings and tweaks. The police modified render was a test of creating something inside the render, the police light on the roof. And for just playing around, it didn't come out too shabby.
