This is something that myself and Howie (He may have started it) used to do somewhere else.

See how many drivers you can name, what track, and year?

We've been doing this on Wall's Unofficial board and having some fun, enjoy.

Dually has it nailed. I do not know who the car inside of the 34 of Ron Shepard is, anyone?

It is the 50 of Richie Gallup inside the 34. Oddly enough the finish I have shows 79 Rezendes starting 15th and 88 Cranmer starting 16th. Nowhere in the finish is Don Pratt or a #62 (or and 82) listed. Wonder what that is about?

it may be Howie, I really do not know that car's driver. The red and white nose on the end of the last row to the left is Tommy Bolles 76 i believe as well. Although it could be Randy Hedger's 33 too.

Sure it's 1988? 1989, Don didn't finish the race unfortunately....

Going by the Pylon and the way they are lined up matches the 1988 starting lineup. But...it shows Spaulding starting 22 and Sherwood 24 - no one starting 23rd. Maybe the 62 should have been one row back in 23rd and was also left off the rundown? Gallup did start between Baldwin and Shephard.

I lettered Jamie and Cranmers cars, I'm pretty sure it was 88. I also believe Don Pratt's car and crew won "Best Appearing" in 88, which could be why he is out of line. They did a great job setting the cars on the track back then, but it did get confusing sometimes, and if you had a problem at the scales, you could not get into your spot later with all 50+ cars on the frontstraight.

I'm sure now it's not 1989, because that year Ed D'Hondt had the Ford Probe #9 for Ben Dodge and had a horrible accident going into turn 1 after the start of the race, not the one pictured. I was in the one of the first pit area's on the end of pit road, so I remember it. It was also the year we lost Don Pratt.

correct, he hit exactly the same spot Pratt did....
which to this day, I still do not understand why there were concrete barriers there in the first place, as there was nothing but open space in back of it for roughly a 1/4 mile!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
orange cones would have been sufficent....AND saved a life.....

Yes, can't change it now, but for years there were orange cones there. Donny Ling Jr's throttle stuck one year in a heat or practice coming off turn 4, and he went all the way to almost the first turn of the big track before stopping, if the walls were there then, who knows. They did always have the barriers in turn 4 for as long as I remember though.

IT IS NOT 1989 YOU ARE RIGHT! IM PRETTY SURE THIS IS 1988 THAT CAR IS THE OLD TROYER CAR THAT GEORGE WAGNER III HAD DRIVEN AT ISLIP SPEEDWAY. THE CAR WRECKED AT POCONO WAS A BRAND NEW CAR WHICH HAD ONLY RUN 1 RACE AT THOMPSON SPEEDWAY. THE PROBE WAS NOT AT POCONO IT WAS BURNED IN A REALLY BAD FIRE AT RIVERSIDE PARK A YEAR LATER.
