RGee Are you ever going to post the cars youve painted for download?

You can right click and save from here.
For full size, I am only doing a few to post as wallpapers and the rest are for teams asking for my services.
Or, are you asking for the paint files for Sim Racing?

Spoke with Billy Taylor and it is George Kent in the car at Pocono, Billy ran sacks 3-4 times, Shangrila, Thompson and he thinks stafford twice, never ran Sacks at Pocono, Thought I'd throw that out there.

Well I guess he would know. :)
I apologize for the error.

So if it wasn't Greg, what's the correct answer?

My answer is based on seeing a Vega in the background and remembering that Geoff was the first to ever show up for a RoC race with a Cavalier bodied mod (1980?). He set fast time that day, but dropped out with an overheating problem before the end of the race.

Greg Sacks DID drive a #99 in the 1983 RoC at Pocono. The finishing order listed in my 1984 RoC program says he finished 44th with carburator trouble.

OK, it's only been 24 years, but i would have sworn it was Greg. either way, just wanted to post the pic for Rgee, sorry for any confusion.

Hey WJ,

Couple of things..The car in the background should be the Roger Bonville #51 Driven by Bob Potter. That car/combo ran Waterford for years. If you look super close it's the old school RaceWorks cage, which is consistent with the car. It's Cavalier bodied, but with 'odd' C-posts.

Second, If you look at Howie's gallery, he has pics of the #99 when Geoff ran it. It was pure white with gold leaf like numbers, same with some of the shows George ran in with...I think they're in the '81 or '82 galleries...

Reason I know this is I had to research this. I had Richie build the updated Mustang version of the car and had to provide him with pics ...

I can't be sure if that is that actual car Greg drove. My reason for posting was jfp's post where he said Billy Taylor never ran Greg at Pocono, but that info I put up comes straight from the finishing order printed by the track. Oddly enough, it lists Tony Siscone as the driver of the #51 in that race (started 7th, finished 5th) and Greg in the #99 is listed as starting 10th. That would put them in the right position if you think about the angle of the picture and the way the cars would have been on the track.

With no other clarification by anyone on here of who actually drove the car, it's the only assumption I can make.

Yes, I remember Siscone driving the 51 and had a bad crash between 1 and 2, but was ok.

Yes, Sacks raced the 99 in 1983 at pocono. Mom and I had Tshirts made up that said "Sacks still Flying in Number 99", Which didn't really go over too well on the Charlie J Fan club bus. :)

Alright Tooner, I guess I need to dig out my oldies now. Got a new hot rod scanner, since my old one was not compatible with Windows XP 64 bit :( Minor friggin upgrade, new friggin scanner. The old one was only 2 years old. What should I scan first? Pocono ROC stuff? Wall Stadium stuff? or the few times I did travel as a youngster?

Thanks W.J. That works just fine!

Anyone happen to know what car Satch was driving? Talmedge Thomas?

W. J.
02-02-2008, 08:02 PM
I'm going to guess it was the originally numbered #07 that Satch normally competed in, but renumbered #08, due to Ray Miller's #07 qualifying in a higher position, 29th, while Satch started 44th. Lots of #7's there that day, Tom Baldwin was renumbered 17.
Hope that helps you get an answer.

Tony Siscone 4 laps down in 5th.

I remember this was a strange race. ALOT of the big guys had problems early. Don Howe was not very fast that day and still got a top 5. Pretty sure he was in the Escort that race.

Again, according to the picture of him with the car in the 1984 program, it is an Escort. Great memory, Ted!:)
