Okay, I'm back to an off-the-wall thread that I hope we can all have some fun with:

You're having a dinner party and are allowed to ask five "sports" people; i.e. racing, football, college sports (you get the idea). The trick is: you are only allowed one person from each sport you choose (you can't pick two from racing, etc.). They sports figures can be past or present, male or female.

Then, to throw a monkey wrench into the whole party, you may invite two others who are not participants in the actual sport. I think you'll get my meaning when I give you my choices:

1. John Force (drag racing) - definately for the humor!
2. Troy Aikman (football) - my all time football hero.
3. Derek Jeter (baseball) - my favorite male sports player to look at!
4. Rebecca Lobo (UConn Women's B'ball) - we grew up in the same town.
5. Lance Armstrong (cycling) - An inspiration to anyone facing adversity.

My two others:

1. The Hodges, as I would definately want pictures of this dinner party!
2. Lou Cady, as I would love the opportunity to meet the man who brought internet racing to what it is today.

Have fun............Linda Case

Howie’s dinner guests

1) Ashley Force (racing) My first thought was actually John Force. Then I thought, no one else will get to talk. So Ashley is my choice. That lead to all women guests.
2) Jennie Finch (baseball)
3) Jen Rizotti (basketball)
4) Mia Hamm (soccer)
5) Gabriela Sabatini (tennis)

My two guest friends would be –

1) The entire UConn Women’s Basketball team (If Linda counts the team of the Hodges as one, I can invite a team of basketball players as one.)
2) Lou Cady because he would love to have dinner with the UConn team. (and I’d love to have dinner with Lou again).

Mary’s dinner guests

1) Boris Said (racing)
2) Brett Farve (football)
3) Chris Ledoux (bull riding)
4) Scott Hamilton (skating)
5) Bill Rodgers (running)

Mary's two guest friends would be –

1) Rev. David Ripley (our minister “back in the day”)
2) Joanne White (old friend from school)

2. Dorothy Hammill (skating)
3. Wayne Gretsky (hockey's "great one")
4. Peekaboo Street (women's down hill skiing)
5. Lance Armstrong - great minds think alike!

Two extra guests:

in building Precision Automotive, Inc. to what it is today. He'd definately
get a chuckle out of all of the above.........

1. Tiger Woods
2. Richard Petty
3. Wayne Gretzky
4. Peyton Manning
5. Derek Jeter

I'd love to sit with some of the all time greats of their own sports.

1. My brother, because he would never believe me unless he was able to see it himself.
2. Tom Baldwin,
1.So he can give Tiger a few pointers on how to putt better, and how on any given day TB could drive the ball futher.
2. He can tell Petty that if he himself was in that equipment he could have been better than Petty.
I miss the old guy and he would probably really tell those guys those things given the opportunity. Sometimes you meet people that just have a way about just being themselves. That's all TB was and he never professed to be anything other than Tommy Baldwin.
