Mahoning Valley Speedway Sets Test & Tune Days
(LEHIGHTON, Pa. 3-6-08) The start of the 2008 racing season at Mahoning Valley Speedway is just a few weeks away and racers who compete at the paved Lehighton ¼-mile oval are either ready or for some in the final stages of having their mounts in gear for the Saturday night, April 12 lid-lifter which will be headlined by the Modified Frost Free 100.
In preparation for the opener the speedway has three Test & Tune practice days set. Saturday and Sunday, March 29-30 and Saturday, April 5 are the designated dates which will be run from noon until 4:00 pm.
All of Mahoning’s regular weekly classes, which include Modifieds, Late Models, Street Stocks, Pro4 Late Models, Factory Stocks and 4-Cylinder Stocks, are encouraged to take advantage of pre-season track time.
The speedway also welcomes all other divisions of cars that may want to come out on any of those dates as well.
The Frost Free Modified 100 race is the first race of 2008 Modified 500 series of 100-lap features that will take place at Mahoning Valley this year.
In the inaugural Frost Free 100 held in 2006, Brian DeFebo took the Opening Day laurels. Last year New Your state invader Rusty Smith broke through for his first ever Mahoning triumph.
In each of those races as well as virtually every one of Mahoning 100 lap Modified shows, the outcomes have come right down to the finish.
All regular track classes will also be on the card that evening which is set to begin at 6:00pm.
Once the season gets underway racing will then continue every Saturday night through the end of September.
