Wasn't it Islip when Harbacks crew got hit in the infield and one member lost his life.I was in the pit standsand saw the entire thing. Sad night

I worked for the Uncle of that young man. From what I understand, he was a heck of a guy. I wasn't there that night.
Just remembered, his name was Frankie.

That's how I remember it. We all booed when Sacks fired his car up during the Red Flag, but later realized that they were packing up for the night. Very sad night indeed

Thanks Capt. I didn't want to mention his last name. His Uncle didn't want to hear a word about stock car racing after Frankie's passing. Sammie has passed on a number of years ago now.
