This Friday, May 30, will be USG Sheet Rock night at Spencer Speedway. On tap will be a complete program of NASCAR Weekly Modifieds, Street Stocks and Super Sixes races. A new addition for the night will be a “Pit Party” to take place on the front stretch just before the start of the Weekly Modified feature.
“We want our fans to meet the drivers and have a good time seeing up close the Weekly Modified cars,” commented promoter John White .
Weekly Modified teams are encouraged to bring candy or autograph cards for the race fans. “The fans will be allowed onto the track through our turn four gate,” added White. “We would love to see our grandstands empty and everyone on the track.”
Currently, last week’s feature winner, Kirk Rutherford, is leading in track points in the Weekly Modified division. Last week’s victory was his ninth feature win at Spencer Speedway.
In two week’s , June 6, the weekly “Three Star” program will grow by one to a “Four Star” show, when the ultra fast winged Supermodified from the Midwest Supermodified Association join the program, running a 40-lap feature..
“We expect a good turnout of these cars, stated White, “as the next day, June 7, they race at Oswego Speedway. That means we could get a good number of ISMA cars joining our show also.”
The MSA has staged two shows so far this year. The first was won by Dave Shullick Jr. on May 4 at Oswego . On May 17 they raced at Lorain County Speedway (OH) where the current points leader, Charles Schultz too the feature win.
Don’t forget the big “Pit Party” this Friday at Spencer Speedway just before the start of the NASCAR Weekly Modified feature. Spencer Speedway is located just fifteen minutes east of Rochester , NY , along Route 104 in the Town of Williamson . Spencer Speedway is the local “ NASCAR Place to Race” for upstate New York . Points earned each week at Spencer are counted into the national NASCAR Whelen All-American Series championship.
