Sad News

[DOR 58 FIGURE 8]

:*-( Carl "Whitey" Voekler Sr.,Father of Carl Jr., Dan and Shawno Volekler passed away yesterday in Tenn. He drove the #6 Figure 8 Car back in the 70's.
When I find out more information I'll pass it on. :*-(

I Am very sorry to hear this . Carl Jr. was a huge help to me when I started out in the Blunderbust division . He is missed by many at Riverhead raceway . I want to express my deepest sympathy to Carl and his entire family On the passing of his Dad , whom I never had the pleasure to meet .If the tree was like the acorn , He must have been a great guy !

My condolences to the Voelker family. "Whitey" was something of a 'bad guy' in the Figure-8's, but he always drove a great race and put on a good show for those of us in the stands.

Whitey will be laid out Saturday from 1-3 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home, Crossville, Tenn. A memorial service will follow and burial right after here in Tenn.

Condolences to the Voelker Family. " Whitey" was one of the old school racers That I watched as a teenager at Islip Speedway & competed against for many years at Islip. He was a real showman & a good friend to be around. We will all MISS him!!!!!!!!
