On June 5, 2008, persistent wet conditions forced the postponement of Thursday Night Thompson Thunder. A weather pattern of persistent and nagging light rain settled into the area shortly after practice was concluded for all six NASCAR Whelen All-American Series divisions hindering any track drying efforts. Officials conducting the driver’s meeting asked the competitors how they felt about the conditions and they express a desire not to race. Rain checks will be honored next Thursday Night, June 12 when all six divisions will be back in action. The Thompson Night festivities, for local residents, will also be celebrated next week.
