Former Modified driver Tony Siscone's father passed away. I would like to pass our condolences from all of us here at the Chrome Horn.



Anthony J. Siscone Sr.
SISCONE, ANTHONY J., SR., 85 - of Hammonton, died Monday at his daughter's home in Folsom. Born in Hammonton he was a lifelong resident there. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a member of the VFW in Florida. Mr. Siscone was a self employed sewing machine mechanic working in clothing shops throughout Vineland, Egg Harbor and Hammonton for 65 years. He also formerly owned and operated the Collings Lakes Diner. In the early 1950's he was the head basketball coach of the Vineland City League where he led the team to five consecutive championships. In the late 1950's he was the assistant basketball coach at Sacred Heart High School. In his second year there Sacred Heart made it to the State finals and lost by one point. He was a race car owner at the old Pleasantville Speedway. He was a stock car owner who won many local championships. Mr. Siscone was an owner, a mechanic and a reputable engine builder for go-kart racing. His engines won many State, Regional, and National Championships. He was a member of the IKF(International Kart Federation.) Mr. Siscone was also a member of the Nascar Owners Association. He is survived by his son and daughter in law: Anthony R. and Margi Siscone of Hammonton; his daughter and son in law: Joyce and Robert Comunale of Folsom; John Lyons, Sr, whom he referred to as his second son; three grandchildren: Jeanne Mahoney and her husband James of New Smyrna Beach, FL; Jaclyn Siscone of Mays Landing; A. Jay Siscone of Hammonton; his companion: Dessie DeFeo of Absecon; one brother: Frank Siscone of Hammonton; his sister and brother in law: Rose and Steve Junewiecz of Absecon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday 12:00pm in St. Joseph's RC Church N. Third Street Hammonton. Entombment will follow in Greenmount Cemetery. A viewing will be held Friday 9:30am until 11:30am at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third St., Hammonton. Memorial donations may be made to the Hammonton Rescue Squad, 300 S. Egg Harbor Rd., Hammonton, NJ 08037.
