One of the oldest forms of motorsport competition returns to Lee USA Speedway, Lee,, NH., Friday night June 27, when the popular Northeastern Midget Association tour competes at the Rte 125 oval for the first time in four years.

NEMA, active since 1953, features open cockpit, open wheel, winged race cars, that travel over 100 miles per hour on the 3/8 mile speedway.

“Lee is one of the most challenging places we run,” said Gene Angelillo, long time car owner who has 106 wins to his credit. “No two turns are the same. They’re all different. The backstretch seems to be longer than the front stretch; it’s a D rather than a paper clip but it is fast, very fast.” Despite its uniqueness, it has hosted some memorable midget racing.

Expected entries include some of the finest open wheel racers in the country. Point leader Randy Cabral is entered. He holds a 22 point lead over Joey Payne heading into Lee. Greg Stoeher, Erica Santos, and William Wall, make up the top five in the point standings and are expected.

Local drivers that compete in the all new NEMA Lites division, include Candia , NH., driver P. J. Stergios, Russ Wood Jr. Pelham, NH., and Mike Ordway Jr. Fremont, NH.

Ordway, an ISMA Supermodified standout, has prior NEMA Midget experience.

Panessiti, Eric Hoffman, Geoff Rollins, Alby Ovitt and James Russell headlining the unpredictable Hobby Stocks. The Ironman entries include Shane Horvath, Chris Harding, and Kevin Emery.
