This is something that needs to be cleared up before Sunday...

We have advertised rain or shine for some time now...we plan on holding true to that in most cases...BUT...today at Big Diamond, we realized just how bad things can get.

On asphalt, there isn't a problem with heavy rain. On dirt...there really isn't a problem with heavy rain...you just don't race in it!

We watched today as the race at Big Diamond had to be called off due to an extreme amount of rain...how much rain is an extreme amount? Well, let's put it this way...it down poured for nearly an hour! The infield at Big Diamond was starting to fill up.

So, just what will happen in the event that it rains on Sunday?

IF there is rain in the forecast, we will keep a close eye on things to track its movement. Quick storms can be waited out or dealt with altogether. Heavy rain will hinder the race in the case of longer spouts. A constant drenching rain will leave us with no choice but to call the event...which has already been discussed with Bruce Rogers.

Bruce is both worried about his track (Which he has every right to be!) and about NEETS having a rain date if need be. We will not let cars out onto the track if they will do nothing but ruin the racing surface and most likely be stuck out there. There are some rain conditions that will not be able to be dealt with and that is what he have to hope we don't see!

If the race is started already and it starts to rain...we may be able to continue depending on how heavy it is and the size of the storm.

If the race has not started and rain starts to fall, we will wait it out and see if we can let the track soak some of it up before we begin racing.

These are the orders we have been given by Grandview Speedway. This is their track. This is the track surface their weekly drivers have to race on. It is not our choice to ruin their track for one race. We will do all that we can to show our respect as a visiting series to both the speedway officials and the weekly drivers.

Pray for heat! Do the sun dance everyone!!!

See you Sunday!

No doubt about it. It rained on Sunday that's for sure! We would have been alright had the radar been telling the truth. At first it had the storm ending in five minutes. The storm didn't end in five, ten, or fifteen minutes! There were no storms in sight, and suddenly, radar detected storms leaving state college and heading our way. It just wasn't meant to be on Sunday at Big Diamond, but it was nice to meet the people from NEETS. Oh, that's right, you didn't actually meet me. lol
