The Whelen Modified Tour made its first stop at Spencer Speedway in 15 years, and it was a great night for the Lewis Racing Family. Daryl Lewis Jr. and Andy Lewis raced from their front row starting position on a very unusual Saturday night show at Spencer Speedway.

Daryl Lewis in his Cobra Motor Homes and Trailers number ten only saw one yellow in the 35 lap main on his way to victory lane. Daryl got the jump on Andy at the green flag and there seemed not to look back as Andy settled into the runner up slot in the early going. As the lap clicked off in the top two seemed content as third place runner Jeff Polaski in the Joe Neri Chevrolet mount raced alone as a gap back to fourth found Phil Wehrheim having his hands full with the remainder of the field. Wehrheim made his Ultimate Marine Group mount very wide holding off the likes of multi winner Kevin Timmerman, Buck Catalano, Andy Jankowiak and Jeff Hammond.

The single yellow of the feature came on lap 27 as Steve Malin spun in the front straight bringing the field together for an eight lap dash to the line. On the restart Lewis Jr. once again got the jump and moved to the front as Andy who looked like he may have something for Daryl continued second. At the line it was Daryl Lewis along with Andy Lewis making the family very pleased with the a great one two finish. Third though fifth found Jeff Polaski, Wehrheim, and Eric Stritzel who had a ride great in his Dixon & Carr Reality mount. Sixth through tenth went to Tony Hanbury, Andy Jankowiak, Mike Timmerman, Buck Catalano, and Rick Kluth respectively. In victory lane Daryl stated, “If it weren’t for my entire family I wouldn’t be here” he added, “The car was tight going in, but we stuck with it, and there was a great deal of respect out here tonight from all drivers, and that is what it is about.”

The Street Stocks made a feature only appearance as Mitch Wright took the top spot on the green with Phil Alhart Jr in tow. Alhart put the pressure on in the opening two circuits then disposed of Wright taking the top spot on lap three and did not look back. Alhart Jr. never was to be denied as he picked up his second win consecutively in the 15 lap headliner as Don Stevens moved from his fourth starting slot to pick up the runner up position. Rounding out the top five were front row starter Dan Scott, Billy Semmler pole sitter Wright.

The Super Six 20 lap main found John Semmler race from his fifth place starting spot to take the checkered and another victory. The lone lead change in the race came as Semmler used the outside in the front straight to pass outside pole sitter Craig Butler and out distanced the field on lap three. The surprise of the race came in the form of new comer Skip Powers from Palmyra as he raced his way to the top five. Following Semmler to the stripe was top runner Kris Hillgeer, as Powers raced from scratch to pick up a fine third place. The Butler brothers capped the top five with Craig fourth and Keith fifth. Semmler stated in victory lane that the car was for sale at $2500. The lone heat for the super sixes went to John Semmler. The lone Super Six heat went to Semmler.
