Closest airport would be Mansfield-Lahm Airport across the street from the front stretch of the track. Do they have commercial flights? Don't know.

The only OH airport Southwest flies to is Columbus. I got a rate of $159.00 (roundtrip, all taxes included), but wanted to see if there was anything closer/cheaper? The track is a bit over an hour from the airport.

I flew into Columbus last year and made it to Mansfield in less than an hour. It's an easy drive straight north. Car rental was also easy, directly downstairs from the baggage area. I think I was off the plane and down the road in 20-30 minutes. I went from LaGuardia to Columbus for around $200.
it's better than 10 hours on the road!!

Greetings from Ohio everyone...

Very much looking forward to seeing everyone at Mansfield in a few weeks.

I checked out www.sidestep.com and found some relatively inexpensive fares from various northeast airports. You'll have to check the site for the airline and itinerary details.

Good luck and hope to see a bunch of you in the Buckeye state soon:

The following best fares for Fri/Sun travel to/from CMH (74 miles away, straight up I-71):

(ALB) Albany International $341
(BDL) Bradley Intl $230
(HPN) Westchester County $245
(HVN) Tweed-New Haven $270
(PVD) Providence-TFGreen $184
(SWF) Stewart $236
(BOS) Boston Logan $298
(MHT) Manchester, NH $188

There are some good rates for Fri/Sun travel to/from CAK (Akron, 72 miles) or PIT (Pittsburgh, 162 miles); here are the best rates from various northeast airports:

(ALB) Albany International $236 (CAK)
(BDL) Bradley Intl $155 (PIT)
(HPN) Westchester County $267 (PIT)
(HVN) Tweed-New Haven $324 (CAK)
(PVD) Providence-TFGreen $161 (PIT)
(SWF) Stewart $262 (PIT)
(BOS) Boston Logan $216 (CAK)
(MHT) Manchester, NH $165 (PIT)

Fares to CLE (70 miles north of the speedway) are a bit more expensive, and the least expensive rates will require a connection:

(ALB) Albany International $245
(BDL) Bradley Intl $270
(HPN) Westchester County $311
(HVN) Tweed-New Haven $270
(PVD) Providence-TFGreen $252
(SWF) Stewart $380
(BOS) Boston Logan $250
(MHT) Manchester, NH $230
