Veteran super modified driver Justin Belfiore, Haverhill, MA., has entered the Mac Tools “Summer Classic” for small-block supermodifieds at Lee USA Speedway, Lee, NH, Friday night July 25. The race has been rescheduled due too severe thunderstorms last week.

The ISMA supermodified standout will pilot a car owned by Tom Tombarello Jr, also based in Haverhill . Another ISMA competitor, Mike Ordway Jr, Fremont , NH , a former Lee track champion, is also entered driving the Dave Bouchard supermodified. Jim Lowery Jr, Tilton , NH , a former ISMA competitor, is also entered in the special race.

Defending track champion, Eddie Witkum, Jr., Merrimack , NH , is considered the local favorite based on his performance to date. Speedway officials have announced that with the interest shown in Friday night’s event, a season high 17 entrants, the Lee track will present two more special races this year for the open wheeled winged racers. A 40 lap race carrying the same payoff has been added to the annual “Ollie Silva Memorial Classic” for ISMA supermodifieds August 15th. The second date will be announced shortly. Both races will be presented by Locke Crane Service.

The NASCAR Whelen All-American Series will also be in competition Friday night.

Defending champion JR Baril, Wayne Helliwell, Miles Chipman, Jeffrey Lebreque, and Larry Gelinas headline the Late Model division action. The weekly Late Model Sportman, Hobby Stocks, Roadrunners, and Ironman divisions will also participate.

Looking ahead, the Hobby Stocks will be in the limelight on August 1st when their sponsor Planet Aid will be conducting their annual clothing drive on the speedway grounds.
