BEEMAN PICKS UP 75-LAP NASCAR WIN, STEVENS DOMINATES STREET STOCKS AGAIN

Ryan Beeman, from Fulton , NY , picked up his second NARCAR Weekly Modified feature victory last week in the 75-lap double points feature. Beeman. His first career win came earlier two months ago in June.

Don Stevens picked up his third Street Stock feature in a row. Topping this fact was his nearest points rival, Phil Alhart Jr. dropped out of the 20-lap feature, allowing Stevens to extend his track points lead by 26 points.

In Super Six action the largest field of the year on hand, saw Skip Powers take his second feature win of the year.

The 75-lap NASCAR Weekly Modified feature saw Zach Shove and Steve Malin pace the field down to take the green, when Malin suddenly exited the track in the fourth turn. This caused the cars behind to check up, resulting in Kevin Timmerman spinning between turns three and four. Timmerman exited to the pits along with Buck Catalano and newcomer Josh Philpott. Timmerman and Catalano return to restart at the back of the pack.
Once underway Zach Shove took the lead followed by Ryan Beeman and Tony Hanbury. Shove was able to maintain his lead until lap 16, when Beeman shot by to take the point.
On lap 32 the first yellow flag of the race came when Ricky Kluth slowed to a stop in the second turn. Three laps later the second yellow cam, lap 35, when Daryl Lewis Jr. looped out, again in the second turn.
Up front Beeman was able to hold back the challenges of Shove and Hanbury. Lap 40 saw the yellow fly again when Jody London spun in the second turn.
Beeman, Shove and Hanbury were able to stretch out a seven car break away lead over Andy Jankowiak and Buck Catalano. The race would remain green for the rest of the 75 laps, with Beeman taking the victory. Shove, Hanbury, Jankowiak and Catalano rounded out the top five finishers.
Ironically Beeman had been involve in an on track altercation two weeks ago in which divisional points leader Jeff Hamman, broke his arm. Jankowiak’s fourth place finish was enough to propel him into the points lead as Hamman dropped back to six due to his absence.

The Street Stock feature saw Mitchell Wright take the lead from the pole. Wright would lead the first six circuits until he and Billy Semmler came together in the second turn resulting in both cars spinning and bringing out the yellow. Both cars were sent to the rear, resulting in Don Stevens inheriting the lead.
During the yellow points challenger Phil Alhart Jr. pitted. He did return, but lasted only two more circuits before dropping out of the event.
Stevens led the last 14 laps of the race to take his fifth feature victory of the year, and his third in a row. Duke Wolanski, Dan Scott, Wright and Semmler rounded out the top five finishers.

The large field of Super Six machines saw a somewhat ragged start to their 20-lap main event, with Joe Bailey and Van Grant on the front row. Starter Larry Woodruff kept the green out, but waited until the first yellow and was going to penalize divisional points leader Keith Butler for a jump on the start. Unfortunately for Butler the yellow never flew, resulting in his penalty being imposed on the finish order.
As for the race Skip Powers and Butler sailed into the lead and took off from the rest of the cars. Powers and Butler would finish the feature a full half lap ahead of Ryan Hillegeer in third. Hillegeer benefited from the penalty on Butler and was recoded with a second as Butler dropped back to third. Jesse Parks and Van Grant rounded out the top five.
