In the Webb Heating & A/C Co. Sportsman Series, Tommy Neal of Walkertown
grabbed the win. Neal had worked hard to chase down the lead car of Scott
Hall of Walkertown. During the final laps, Neal gave a strong tap to the
bumper of Hall, spinning him out. Neal claimed the lead and the win. Keith
McMichael of Belews Creek finished in second, and Kenny Bost of Kernersville
finished in third.
Ronnie Clifton of Walkertown took the Sportsman championship – Clifton’s
7th championship in a row.
Ryan Nelson of Winston-Salem claimed the championship for the 104.1 WTQR
Street Stock Series. Ethan Stoltz of Walkertown grabbed the win in the
20-lap race on Saturday, with Doug Wall of Pfafftown finishing in second.
In the Time Warner Cable Stadium Stock Series, A.J. Sanders of Mocksville
won the first race with Billy Cameron Jr. of Salisbury taking checkered in
the second race. Johnny Burke of Midway won the championship for the Stadium
Stock Series – his second championship at the Stadium.
Matt Cotner finished second in the Street Stock race on Saturday, but was
later dropped to the rear after post-race technical inspection found him to
be racing with an illegally modified engine. Gary Brewer finished second in
the first Stadium Stock race, but was also dropped to the rear after he was
found to have an illegally modified engine.
