Come on down and enjoy.
Auto racing, a big part of Flemington Fair for decades, gets a special tribute. Racing ended at

the old fairgrounds in 2000 when the speedway closed. The Hunterdon fair is hosting the Flemington Fair Race Car Show and Memorabilia and Vintage Race Car Display. A tent displays around 30 cars once raced by the likes of Al Tasnady, Billy Pauch, Hoop Schaible and others. On Sunday, many drivers will participate in a "meet and greet" autograph session and be interviewed on stage.

There's a memorabilia trailer brought by the Tri-State Vintage Stock Car Association, and a display from the Reading (Pa.) Fairgrounds Racing Historical Society. Also on hand, attached to a truck, is the huge plastic "Chicken Head" that Paul Kuhl, former Flemington Speedway promoter, once mounted on a convertible and drove around.

A restored car of racing legend Frankie Schneider of Sergeantsville is on display. In 1978 he won his last feature race in it, and a couple of years ago Harry Snyder of Holland Township with help from several others, restored it. And you may see Elvis at the car event, since an impersonator, DJ Davey J, is scheduled to help with the festivities.
