I would just like to say a BIG thank you to Leah Maynor for all her hard work to put together the Vegas Night Fund Raiser for S.A.F.E.R., this past Sunday. Those who attended had a great time.

From memory thanks to the following teams for supporting the function:
28,8,0X,13,37 and the 21. If I forgot your team, I apologize.

Even a couple of officials attended and Desirae cooked up some baked ziti and sausage and peppers, which was great.

However, I and many others are very upset with those members, drivers and teams, who did not attend the event. Those of you who want that big point fund check, but cannot come out and support YOUR organization, you should be ashamed. Many said they would be there and never showed.

In the words of Joe Saraceno, the club took a bath!

Leah,
A big thanks. We had ablast. It was a great time by all who attended. I would have never have dreamed of playing craps. And Tommy great competition, we just had to blow all our chips at the end (lol). All of you that didn't come missed a ton of fun.
Elaine

Yeah, I think T.K. bet like $12,000 on the last roller. It was fun!

Joe - you beat me to it. I sometimes don't speak as eloquently if I don't think a little bit before I speak  But you definitely hit the nail on the head.

Leah - Thank you SSSOOO much for a very fun filled, wonderful afternoon - it was definitely worth the trip out from Riverhead. I'm very sorry that the outcome wasn't what you were hoping for. I know all the hard work you put into this event to try and make it a success to help all the members of S.A.F.E.R. I will treasure my winnings knowing what you did to make it possible :).

Joe Saraceno & Kathy Kraft - Thanks for everything the two of you did at the event. Des - great food as always. Ken Sergio - awesome hero (what can I say...I'm a sucker for a good hero). And, Nick, my "chip gopher" and one time "empty cup holder" lol ;).

I have to say that going into this event as only being a "Slot Machine Partaker" if you will (usually at the nickel machines), it was somewhat exhilarating throwing a couple of thousand dollars in chips on the table in a single bet on the craps table - a game that always completely intimidated me. I went into it a little apprehensive, but ended up having the best time. The dealers were totally awesome and helpful in every way. They took the time to teach us the rules of the game (how to, when to, and how large a bet you should really play) and then I threw it all out the window and starting betting over my head (I had to somehow try to catch up to the high roller, TK, with his over 35K in chips lol). I do have to say that nobody is gonna get rich if I am the roller though. I only had 2 very short stints in that capacity which pretty much lost people money. I might have to actually try and play for real on my next casino trip.

I know this is a little long winded but I felt I really needed to share IN DEPTH what everybody who did not show up & participate in this event really missed. I, and like Joe said, many others were upset of the outcome. To see all of Leah's hard work and time (with all she's been doing in the last few months) basically being a wash, was very upsetting for me.

Just about my...hmmm...twenty five cents at least...
