I just learned that you can repair a broken nerf bar with duct tape and still compete, but you can't compete with a bent nerf bar.

What's the official rule on this?

I stand next to the officials, they checked the nerf bar and even jumped on it to make sure it was ok, it was tacted, not ducted tape. Was there duct tape? Yes, was it ripped off before he went out on the track? Yes! Did they check safety? Yes! Sap nerf bar was higher then the bottom of his window and was in a dangerous spot! Do you want to see another incident like John Blewett III? I didn't think so! His nerf bar could have done damage to someone if he got into an accident. Look at how many cars piled up during the Anderson/Young incident this week! Safety first! They did check his nerf bar. Also they checked someone else's nerf bar when Sap ran up, when he wasn't even driving, stay out of the race if your not racing! He wasn't even working with a team, he should have been thrown out of the track for it!
