Why not just call it thriller season II. orRun what you brung. Open Comp, or something like that !!! Strickly Stock showdown just doesn't make any sense!!!! We all know Thrillers,Bombers, Factory Stocks, Road Runners, Blunderbusts, even most Enduro cars are not even close to STOCK. allowing cars with weight jackers, 4412's, racing springs, ect. and calling them "strictly stocks" is just plain wrong!!!!!
It is a great idea though, and I will support it 100%

hey mike I am planning on attending with the the 19 riverhead blunderbust. I have no weight jackers so does that mean there is no ride height rule? please get back to me asap. Thanks alot.

intense1
09-28-2008, 12:40 PM
Yes, Wayne...that would be OK.

Also, Rob...you are correct. If you have no weight jackers, there is no frame height rule.

This is intended to be a fun series, leaving a little bit of room for creativity. Rules can be interpreted in many different ways... ;)

With the stress of the regular points season over at many tracks, we look forward to seeing some first timers at Mountain.

Hey Wayne, I got a Pro Stock that we can take with DOT "Racing" tires on it if you want. We'll put manifolds on it and get it up to the 6 inch ride height. It's the "rules can be interpreted in many different ways" that scares me. I can see the top 20 getting DQ'ed on this one. LOLOL!!!!

To me Strictly Stock mean get a car out of the junk yard, car lot, or whatever and run it. No mods allowed, except safety of course. This is anything but a Strictly Stock division. Like Mr. Stiles said "2008 Cheaters Dream Series".

09-29-2008, 08:05 PM
we have a bone stock series its called the mountain madness enduro tour lol

Why not have the cars "classify" themselves when they register like the sport mods. RH Grand, MT Thriller, MV FS, etc.

Seems to make sense...

Geno

Don’t read into things too much…just go out and have fun for three races after the seasons over and be creative. The name was sort of something to throw everyone off and see who picks up on what, if anything is “strictly stock”.

Wayne- If I’m not mistaken (and could be wrong), the current thriller Hoosier tires are DOT stamped.

i have a question. would a MVS factory stock be legal for competition? i dont have weight jackers, no headers, 2 barrel carb, only thing i dont know about is the tires. i run hoosier commanches.... are those legal for the whole showdown and not just pack the track?

tstiles
10-03-2008, 09:27 AM
im not certain of ur rules, but if the MVS factory stock 'suse exaust manifolds with a stock intake , ur fine. my sugestion is put good tires on it and go

FSracer9
10-04-2008, 12:01 AM
ok thats all good, but what would good tires mean? hahaha. last year at pack the track i just ran commanches and ran the 4th fastest lap time so just wondering, or do you mean those arent legal? im so confused lol.

10-05-2008, 02:04 PM

FSracer9
10-05-2008, 05:26 PM
well i dont have to worry about it now. i won the rained out feature at mvs and then in the regular feature i got up to 4th and wrecked. my own dumb fault tho. so the cars gonna be parked til i prep it for next year.

What are the cost of pit admission, registration(if any) and transponder rental for the "Pack the Track" and the remaining "Strickly Stock Showdown" events. Many outsiders do not know the "Thriller" regular payout. This information should have been in the press release. If the price is right I'll be there otherwise you guys have fun.
Sincerely,
Duane

What are the cost of pit admission? $35

Registration(if any)- None

Transponder rental for the "Pack the Track" and the remaining "Strickly Stock Showdown" events- Same price as it was all season (I think it's $12)

Many outsiders do not know the "Thriller" regular payout- $200 to win & I believe $100 for second. Top 20 are paid...all cars will start feature.

This information should have been in the press release- including the transponder fee? The info that was available at the time of the press release was sent out and posted.

Ricky Ross jr. indeed looked strong in round #1 of the SSS series, in his 2007 Thriller championship R.N.R. auto restoration Camaro. Ricky also piloted this same car to a surprising win in the 2007 Street Stock Showdown event last October.
A solid field of cars took the green for the first event on October 12th, and we will see who does their homework for round #2, set for Saturday, October 25th, as part of the NELMA Late Model event.
The rules are simple...:p
Looking forward to round #2!!!
