Uh oh.. someone else said he made the South look bad..

And uh oh.. what I've been trying to say for the past week and ya'll think I've been taking up for Burt Myers.. It was more to it.

All that personal stuff and there was no need in it. Good grief.

For those of us that are clueless. does the ignition issue mean traction control??

If, as mentioned, about the gears being close and the ignition box being tampered with, yes. The gear will give more umph off the turns but will also make it easier to lose grip from the power gain. Limiting the ignition/rpm would make that all work together for an advantage. Think that may be the simplest way to explain it.

This is my take on it. Burt didn't have traction control on his car, they did not find anything like that. I DO believe that he did have it on there at some time, practice, testing, race, sometime. They took it off whenever, and didn't put the wires back the way they were before, therefore they were tampered with, put on right, but tampered with. And after talking with my bossman, who has been a team owner for many years, i'm willing to bet that the tranny in there is the same one he's been runnin all year. The southern officials have just probably never looked at it.

Which I would assume was the intent of the rule. Rarely would you find the device, just the evidence of an installation.

I bet they will now......
