I have made this thread 'sticky' since people keep asking for the results...I believe the multitude of responses and posts on other threads keeps pushing this one down the line...

I disagree with the race results, but this is not the first time I've seen this happen during this enduro season. Transponders can not be the only source of keeping track of the laps. I think all Enduro's should require both, transponders and hand scoring. One to verify the other.......sh!t happens and we all learn through experience, but that doesn't mean we can't make improvements. I myself have noticed many errors when checking the lap times on my laps and then comparing the laps to the tape of the race. In some cases, it worked to my advantage and in others it cost me positions. Example: On one particular race, I followed a car for the entire race, the announcer keeps stating that I was in 3rd place. The car I followed all the way to the end finished tenth, and yes, somehow I finished in front of him. It is easy to spot errors if you tape your car during the entire event, never pit, and then compare the lap times on my laps. You just might be surprised!!!

Transponders are a good thing and a step in the right direction, but I recommend hand scoring to ensure all laps are counted, and transponders to ensure that the hand scorers are not cheating. JMO

I haven’t seen a flop clock for a number of years and I don’t know how you manually score without one. :help: I think we’re stuck with the AMB electronic scoring and I don’t think it’s a bad thing. What I strongly encourage you to do is to purchase your own new AMB transponder. I also encourage the transponder that works off the car battery and not the rechargeable ones. I think the rechargeable ones are good if new but like your cell phone after a year or two they don’t fully charge or hold a charge near as long. I think there is a pretty good return when you sell your transponder so I think it is a good investment.
I'm very happy with mine!:applause:

I know for a fact the 7's has his own transponder and I too agree with you that it's the best investment anybody can make SacMan but although this will highly improve race results, even new, privately owned transponders won't solve everybody's problem. Like 7's said himself, they're a step in the right direction but there are still a number of flaws with the system that need to be improved upon. Perhaps the scorers in the tower reading the computer can make notes when errors MAY pop up and send in reports to AMB so they can improve their technology too.

I`m with triple7s on this, why not have a scorer and a clock in case of transponder errors, we have our own transponder that works week in and week out in our sportsman car and never have a problem, use the same transponder at Grandview and it does`nt register the 1st 3 laps, the flop clock would be a good backup in case it`s needed, jmo.
